The Police: "Police Brutality".

Outlandos d'Amour was the debut studio album by the English new wave band The Police, released on 2 November 1978 by A&M Records. It peaked at No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart and at No. 23 in the United States.

The album was recorded at Surrey Sound in an intermittent fashion over six months, the recording sessions, with a budget of £1,500 borrowed from Stewart Copeland's brother Miles, began at January 1978 and ends in June; with the band jumping in whenever the studio had free time or another band's sessions were cancelled, something very similar to how Queen had recorded their first álbum, back in 1972.
When these sessions ended, an early version from the album had made, with 13 theme. Miles named it "Police Brutality". and so he showed it to different labels. Line-up:

Side A: (18:43)
1.Truth hits everybody.(2:45).
2.Can´t stand losing you.(2:39).
3.So lonely.(4:05).
4.No time this time.(3:18) (*)
5.Fall out.(1:33).
6.Hole in my life,(4:20)

Side B. (18:56)
1.Born in the 50´s.(3:13).
2.Peanuts.(3:16).
3.Be my girl-Sally.(1:30).
   (no spoken word version)
4.Roxanne.(3:121) (*)
5.Landlord.(2:44)
6.Next to you.(2:04)
7.Dead end job.(2:54)

All songs by Sting except: Peanuts (Sting & Copeland) & Be My Girl-Sally (Sting & Summers).

All tracks are unreleased alternate versions except (*)

Eventually A&M became interested in the album but advised some changes such as title, so Miles did it  to "Outlaws of love", envisioning a more romantic image for the band. after hearing Roxanne.Besides that needed to be restructured to make it not only more commercial but more powerful.  So the new version was shortened to just 10 songs; relegating: "Dead end job" that closed the original album and "No time this time", to be sides B of the future singles. "No Time This Time" The latter was included on “Reggatta de Blanc” bit.ly/2y05w However, the two songs from their second single "Roxanne", The Police were initially reluctant about it, but Miles Copeland was immediately enthusiastic and not only did he want it to appear as a single but also on the álbum; and  "Peanuts" a composition written by Stewart Copeland and Sting about Rod Stewart. The lyrics were meant as an expression of disappointment on Sting's part towards his former idol; Both will remain in this new version.

Others on the contrary as “Fall out” from their 1st non-album single was replaced by the outtake “Masoko Tanga”. "Be My Girl—Sally" is a half-finished song by Sting, later completed with an Andy Summers poem. Here you can hear the original mix.Almost all the songs were retouched, and expanded by folding for example to get the minutes necessary per each side. Meanwhile on August 14 the second single from the album came out: "Can´t stand losing you" with "Dead End Job" on side B. But this single was banned by the BBC, owing to the cover depicting Stewart Copeland with a noose around his neck, because . the song, “Can´t stand losing you”  is about a young lover being driven to suicide following a breakup.

When the new version of 10 songs was finished, the title had been changed to “Outlandos d´Amour”. a loose French translation of "Outlaws of Love", with the first word being a combination of the words "outlaws" and "commandos", and "d'Amour" meaning "of love”.

The album initially performed poorly due to low exposure and an unfavourable reaction from the BBC to its first two singles, "Can't Stand Losing You" and "Roxanne" (about suicide and prostitution, respectively). Also the reviews of the album were largely unfavorable. Subsequent retrospective reviews have been more favorable, as one of the strongest debut albums by any band or artist. It ranked No. 38 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of "100 Best Debut Albums of All Time". In 2012, the magazine ranked it No. 428 on their list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Ok folks, that´s all.., for now.  Enjoy it.

Kiss: "Alive Japan" - (Cancelled 1977 project) - (Remixed).

Hi Again!.., How do you feel?. I hope better than never or maybe "It´s getting better". Anyway guys!, come on with more and better. This time with a super live album from the legends “Kiss”; that unfortunately retires with one last world tour. If the motherfucker coronavirus wants. Hope so.
Ok!, come on with another jewel, one treasure unfortunately unreleased, that I now recover for everyone: “Alive Japan” (a.k.a: “Live in Japan“) with an extraordinary quality, as always I try to bring you.

"Alive Japan",It should have been the second live album since the previous “Alive!” released in September 1975 by American hard rock band Kiss. This live album launch was scheduled for early summer 1977 by Casablanca. Records, but it was cancelled and the new studio work: “Love Gun“ was released in its place on June 30. Work recorded during May at Record Plant Studios in New York. “Love Gun” was the first Kiss album to feature lead vocal performances from all four band members and the last studio album to feature Peter Criss on every song, as he was replaced by session drummer Anton Fig for all but one song on 1979's Dynasty.

The origins of "Alive Japan" go back to early 1977, when the band's manager Bill Aucoin suggested that Eddie Kramer record a live album during the last dates from “Rock N´Roll Over Tour” in Japan; a series of ten concerts that would start in Osaka at Kousei Nenkin Kaikan on March 24 and end on April 4 in Tokyo at Nippon Budokan (a.k.a: Budokan Hall). bit.ly/3ajzvk Kiss gave four concerts at the Budokan, between April 1 and 4. Giving two in the same day, the 2. It was the evening show, the chosen for the live project. Concert that was recorded professionally to edit a movie of it.

But when Eddie Kramer finished a first master tape,  was rejected by Kiss. Despite the fact that the plan was to release a live album to give the band some much deserved time off before recording next the studio album,  how the live tracks needed dubbing and the band, saturated with the tour and with the commitment to record the new studio album, they didn't want any more extra work so decided to postpone the project for later. The film and live album were archived for the moment.

One of the reasons for cancellation "Alive Japan", among other things, was the same problem that the Beatles had encountered years ago, when they recorded several shows in june 1966, in anticipation of making a live album since the Hollywood Bowl concerts had not been valid and then technology couldn't improve them. The public's shouting made it useless.though in reality Kiss were very exhausted and possibly disinterested also by the project.

During May, the band went back to Record Plant Studios to record their next work "love Gun". It was released on June 30 and the new tour started on July 8 in Halifax, Canada. It was so successful that Casablanca Records resurrected the project for a live album. And although Eddie made a new version of “Alive Japan” with ambient noise reduction, some masters had been damaged, so the band opted to record new concerts at the end of“Love gun tour“.On August 26, 27, and 28, at the LA Forum for their next live album, now called: Alive II.

Side A:(19:03)
1.Detroit Rock City (3:58)
2. Take Me. (3:10)
3.Ladies Room (2:55)
4.Makin´Love (3:10)
5. Gold Gin (5:48)

Side B: (19:38)
1.Do You Love Me (3:30)
2.God Of Thunder. (6:41)
3.Rock N´Roll All Night (4:04)
4.Beth (2:16)
5.Shout It Out Loud (3:06)

When "Alive II” was released on October, it was a double album with three sides taken “allegedly” live, because “I Stole Your Love“  it was a soundcheck used on the album with crowd noise being dubbed in later. The last side were studio recordings made at the Capitol Theatre, Passaic, NJ and Electric Lady Studios, New York, NY on September 13-16, 1977. Only two tracks from the Japan tapes were used: “Beth” and “I want you”.

That´s all. You want the best, here is the best. Kiss!.
See you soon and take care please.

Wicked Lester: "Wicked Lester" - (Unreleased 1972 album - final mix)

Wicked Lester was a New York-based rock and roll band formed in 1970, under the name Rainbow. In 1971 the band changed their name to Wicked Lester. They only recorded a studio album and gave two unique concerts: at the Rivoli Theatre in South Fallsburg, New York on April 23, 1971. The second, in late summer 1971, was at an Atlantic City, New Jersey hotel hosting a B'nai B'rith Youth Organization event.

After that To the group was given the opportunity to record some demos in late 1971 at Electric Lady Studios with the engineer Ron Johnsen. This tape was show to Epic Records, who agreed to fund the recording of a full album. But one of the conditions, however, was that the guitarist Stephen Coronel, founder member, be fired and replaced by session musician Ron Leejack. Some songs were completely re-recorded to accommodate Leejack's different playing style. The recording of Wicked Lester's album, which began in November 1971 at Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village, took place over multiple sessions and was finished in July 1972.

The final mix sessions took place in October. What is interesting, from the point of KISS Story, is that the audio engineer at Electric Lady Studios, where the album was recorded, was one Ron Johnson, later the producer of the Wicked Lester album.
The album took this final line-up:

Side A: (18:26)
1 Love Her All I Can (2:34)
2 Sweet Ophelia (3:02)
3 Keep Me Waiting (3:10)
4 Simple Type (Rmk) (2:54)
5 She (3:03)
6 Too Many Mondays (3:40)

"Sweet Ophelia" and “Too Many Mondays” were songs originally released on Barry Mann's 1971 LP, "Lay It All Out", and were covered the same year by Wicked Lester. While Barry did better as a song writer, usually with his wife Cynthia Weil, or Gerry Goffin (co-writters on each of the tracks respectively), his own recordings didn't do so well.
“Simple Type” was reconstructed, it was the last remixed song for the album. Here´s the final version from this tune.

Side B: (15:58)
1 What Happens In The Darkness (3:07)
2 When The Bell Rings (3:19)
3 Molly (2:30)
4 We Want To Shout It Out Loud (2:42)
5 Long. Long Road (4:19)

The Hollies song "I Wanna Shout" (covered by Wicked Lester as "We Want To Shout It Out Loud") closed their 1970 album "Confessions Of The Mind" and is from one of their more obscure albums.

The master tape was ready in the middle October, in early November it was presented to Don Ellis, Epic's A&R director, he stated that he hated the album and was not going to release it. bit.ly/3Wc72g  A few days after, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, feeling that the group lacked a unifying musical vision, forming a new band Kiss in early 1973, adopting a more straightforward, harder rock sound and an emphasis on stage theatrics.

CBS Records, who owned the rights to the album, remixed it and planned to release it in late 1976 to capitalize on Kiss's popularity at the time. Kiss and Neil Bogart, the president of their label, Casablanca Records, purchased the master tapes from CBS for $137,500 and never released it, because they worried that their hard rock image would be damaged by these more eclectic recordings. It was also feared that the release would be accompanied by pictures of Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley without their trademark makeup.

The cover art was used for The Laughing Dogs' self-titled debut album in 1979, but the album never was released, only three songs were used by Kiss on “The Box Set”, a five CD collection of recordings drawn from the Kiss archives reportedly selected by the band. This compilation box includes 94 tracks, including 30 previously unreleased band and solo demos, outtakes, live recordings, From Wicked Lester album: “Keep me waiting”, “She” and “Love her All I Can”.
Ok Folks!.., that's all, enjoy it and see you soon.
Take care with the motherfucker coronavirus right!.

Billy Joel - "Souvenir" - (The 1977 Promotional Album) (Re-worked version)

“Sourvenir” was a promotional-only release by Columbia Records in the summer 1977 to promote Billy's pre-The Stranger songs. However none of the tracks from this new studio work were included in this limited compilation, because the tunes selected cames from three previous albums, excluding the 1971 record “Cold Spring Harbor” with which Billy Joel made himself known to the public.
Although the lp was very well received It was never included in Billy Joel's catalago, so it's one of his most sought-after jobs.It is estimated that they were not actually more than 100 copies.

“The stranger” lp was released in September 29 1977 produced by Phil Ramone and it was recorded at A&R Recording, Inc, New York City between July and August that same year, with “Movin´Out (Anthony Song) ” as a first single on US and “She´s always a woman” in Europe.

“Souvenir” promo-lp were distributed mainly to radio stations, clubs, and fan clubs in the US and were were not sold in stores. Pressed on Columbia's white promo labels, which state "Demonstration - Not For Sale" at the bottom, as well as on the front jacket.  bit.ly/BY77Ps1 The most interesting thing about this compilation was the inclusion of a live side, for to date Billy Joel had not released live recordings and did not officially do so until 1981 with “Toys in the attic” recorded between june and July 1980 during “Glass Houses Tour”, producer by Phil Ramone too.

Here, you got the re-worked version inspired on the unreleased original version, with two alternate edit versions on side A and new and reconstructed live side with improved sound compared to the original mix. The distributed line-up placed the A side on B and viceversa; but I think this one I´m bringing you, it´s much better.

The Rolling Stones - "Love You Live" (The lost 18-track tape).

"Love You Live" was a double live album by The Rolling Stones, released on september 23 1977 by Rolling Stones Records / Atlantic Records. The songs in it included were from the Americas Tour 1975 and The European Tour 1976. And some tunes taken live, in early march, at The Mocambo nightclub in Toronto in 1977. A special show, where the band  appeared under the name "The Cockroaches".

The album was overdubbed and mixed from late May to mid-June 1977.A first rendition made by Jagger was ready in May 1977, the one detailed below; but this one didn't pleased to Keith Richards. The new versión, the official, was the result one disc for Mick, the 1st, and the other, the 2nd to Keith.

2.Sympathy For The Devil. (7:57)

For close of the album, Mick left the only two songs from the Mocambo shows: "Crackin´Up" and "Around and Around" that didn't need "overdubs", bit.ly/31cLyK7 the rest was discarded, did not have an acceptable quality because the concerts could not be rehearsed prior to the delay in incorporating Keith after being arrested in Toronto for drug possession.

The album artwork was prepared by Andy Warhol. The hand-drawn titles across the front were added by Mick Jagger, to Warhol's dismay. Here´s I bring yoy the original concept that Andy had for the album."Love you live" had three covers. The oficial. The black-and-white promo with polaroid photos made by Andy Warhol, rejected for regular edition, as it looked a lot like "Exile on Main St." and the discarded one, shown here.
"Love You Live" was the final álbum where Keith Ricrahds name would be spelled as "Richard". He returned to spelling his surname "Richards" beginning with 1978´s "Some Girls".

The lp was dedicated to the memory of audio engineer Keith Harwood, who died in a drug-induced car accident shortly before the album's release. It was The Rolling Stones' final album whereby Rolling Stones Records would be internationally distributed by Warner Music. The band's next several albums would be distributed through EMI worldwide, while they remained with Warner in North America only. It managed to reach No. 3 in the UK and No. 5 in the US, where it went gold.

Ok guys.., enjoy it.

Creedence Clearwater Revival: "Live in Europe" (Unreleased version)

"Live in Europe" was the first live album in many years by Creedence Clearwater Revival, released in October 16.1973 by Fantasy Records documenting the Mardi Gras tour. The CCR farewell Concerts. Starts on July 4.1971 at Fillmore West, San Francisco, CA, USA and ends on May 22 at Denver Coliseum, Denver, CO, USA . After they played around the world: Europe, Australia and Japan. It was performed as a trio following Tom Fogerty's departure.
The original project was a single LP with only 10 by the 15 songs, that they used to played on tour. Aproximately about 20 minutes per side. But Fantasy Records wanted a doble album and expanded it with four more songs and changed the original versions selected by other most extensive. But even though this, bit.ly/368ccR It did not given for to complete four sides. The minutes per side did not exceed 12. To fix it, the record company thought about adding songs from other concerts, past or futures, not necessarily in Europe or some studio outtake. So a edit version from part 1 & 2  from "45 Revolutions Per Minute" released as promotional single on Decembder 31 1969 was selected to complete the disc. This outtakes (not edited) were included on Pendulum 40th special edition, but only as bonus tracks. The version made for "live in Europe" remains unreleased, .although it is suspected that it was destroyed by John Fogerty to prevent them from being pirated. Either way, I have not found it anywhere, the same is true and was destroyed or never came into existence and is only legend. What do you think about it?.

The tapes recorded by CCR on January 30 1970, during "Cosmo´s factory sessions", with Booker T Jones at Wally Heider Studios in San Francisco, California, were also reviewed, but this recordings were rejected too, because the material didn't have enough quality.
Side A: (20:10)

2.Green River / Susie Q. (4:37)
3.It Came Out of the Sky. (3:07)

5.Lodi. (3:14)
6.Bad Moon Rising. (2:02)

Side B: (20:18)
1.Proud Mary. (2:44)
2.Up Around the Bend. (2:38)
3.Hey Tonight. (2:18)
4.Keep on Chooglin'. (12:37)

(Free Trade Hall, Manchester, England, Sept.1.1971). Track: 4A
(Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Sept.10.1971). Track: 2B
(Deutschlandhalle, Berlin, Germany. Sept.16,1971).Tracks: 3A & 6A
(Ernst-Merck-Halle, Hamburg, Germany. Sept.17.1971).Tracks: 5A, 1B, 3B & 4B
(Tennishallen, Stockholm, Sweden. Sept.21.1971).Tracks: 2A & 1B
(Royal Albert Hall, London, England, Sept.28.1971).Track:1A.
All songs by John Fogerty, except : "Green River / Susie Q" (Fogerty/Eleanor Broadwater, Dale Hawkins & Stanley S. Lewis)
The project was delayed in order to provide more unpublished material live and thus offer a double album in conditions, but the group's refusal to contribute to it was moving away from this second possibility. On the contrary, things got worse, and finally the album was released after John Fogerty's final struggles with Fantasy Records, in which he as a songwriter was trapped.More than a year after CCR's farewell tour was over, in late 1973 Fantasy Records released the album live and John Fogerty said he never would play a Creedence Clearwater Revival song again, since this would only benefit to his old record company This was a promise he kept for some 20 years.
The lp had an anticipated edition in France at the end of 1972. and another of a single lp in 1987, in which the two songs "Sweet Hitch-Hiker" and "Door to Door" released as a single in July 1971 from "Mardi Gras", were amitted.
In this new reconstruction I bring you, The rejected versions,in stereo and mono mixes. taken live in September 1971 at the European Tour, for the last CCR.

The cover used on European 1971 tour poster and ."Sweet Hitch-Hiker"/"Door to Door" single cover in July 1971 from "Mardi Gras" Lp.
Ok, that´s all. Brief but good. See you soon but in another year.

Derek and The Dominos - "My Heart Is No Longer With You" - Reconstructed 2nd album

Derek and the Dominos were an English–American blues-rock band formed in the spring of 1970 by guitarist and singer Eric Clapton, keyboardist and singer Bobby Whitlock, bassist Carl Radle and drummer Jim Gordon. Their first session as a band was during the recording George Harrison´s album "All Things Must Pass".
Derek and the Dominos gave their debut live performance on 14 June 1970 The event was a charity concert in aid of the Dr Spock Civil Liberties Legal Defence Fund, held at London's Lyceum Theatre. Four days after, on 18 June, the band members, together with Harrison on guitar, took part in a session for the single at the Beatles' Apple Studio. With Phil Spector as producer, two Clapton–Whitlock compositions were recorded that day: "Tell the Truth" and "Roll It Over" – along with two instrumental jams that would be included on the Apple Jam disc of Harrison's triple album.

For three weeks from 1 August, the group performed in clubs and other small venues in Britain, where Clapton chose to play anonymously, still weary from the fame. on 23 August 1970 , the band flew to Miami, Florida to begin recording with Atlantic Records producer Tom Dowd until early September, The sessions took place at Criteria Studios for what became the double album: “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs”."Layla" (a tale of unrequited love inspired by Clapton's infatuation with his friend Harrison's wife, Pattie Boyd). The album is often considered to be the defining achievement of Clapton's career. The album is often considered to be the defining achievement of Clapton's career.

After the recording the album,Derek and the Dominos returned to the UK to continue touring there before heading back to America to start the US tour on 15 October. The double Lp was issued in November 1970. But it missed the top ten in the United States and failed to chart at all in the United Kingdom, hecause It garnered little attention, partly as a result of a lack of promotion by Polydor, and partly due to the public's ignorance of Clapton's presence in the band.
In 1972 the song "Layla" was included on “The History of Eric Clapton” lp and Atlantic issued the song as a single in July that year. It became a hit, reaching number 10 in America and number 7 in Britain. Song and album have since received widespread critical acclaim and has been ranked among the best albums of all time.

But the tragedy and misfortune dogged the group throughout and following its brief career. On 18 September 1970, the death of his friend Jimi Hendrix. In October 1971, Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident. In addition, His unrequited love with Patti Harrison and the lukewarm critical and commercial reception to “Layla” took him to a spiral into drug addiction and depression.

However, the group began preparing a new studio album at the end of March, at Clapton´s home recording: “Gold Devils Roads” features vocals by Gordon´s wife Renee Armand. Intended to be the next Reneé´s single. Never released. The sessions began at Olympic Studios in April 1971; but this sessions were interrupted at the end of May after a strong discussion by Eric Clapton with the group, he left to never return more.

One of the provisional titles that were shuffled for the album was: “My heart is no longer with you”, that it defined the Eric Clapton´s continued feeling towards the group although everyone believed that those words was aimed at Patti Harrison.

The provisional álbum title was: “My heart is no longer with you”, the feeling that Eric Clapton had to the group, although everyone believed that those words was aimed at Patti Harrison. But the recording sessions were interrupted at the end of May after a strong discussion by Eric Clapton with the group, Eric left to never return more.

After a few months of waiting for things to calm down, seeing that Eric Clapton had left the band permanently, in mid-1972 a master tape was made with some studio songs along with others recorded live, but like no member of the group wanted to participate in it to finish, this project it was archived with no release date.bit.ly/3701tHt In January 1973, Polydor Records preferred released a double lp "In concert"; forgetting the previous record definitively.

Here is the reconstructed version from the unreleased second album of Derek and The Dominos, following the original line-up from master tape.
